Triple Eight Plumbing is a fully licensed residential and emergency plumbing business based in Knoxfield, Victoria. Founded in 2012 by Brett Ward and Garth Patterson, we specialise in maintenance plumbing, blocked drains, hot water, and pipe relining across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. We are a team of real people who show up when we say we will, fix things properly, and tell you the cost before we start.

Triple Eight Plumbing provides residential, commercial, and emergency plumbing services across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Our core focus is residential maintenance — helping homeowners, landlords, and property managers keep their properties safe, functional, and free of plumbing surprises.
We are based at 2/57 Parkhurst Drive, Knoxfield VIC 3180 — in the heart of the eastern suburbs we serve. With 22 vans on the road and a team of 20+ licensed plumbers and support staff, we have the capacity to respond quickly across the eastern metropolitan area without losing the local, personal approach that comes from being a business built and run by two local tradespeople.
Triple Eight holds all required Victorian plumbing licences and is affiliated with Master Plumbers Australia, Backflow Australia, the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC), and Energy Safe Victoria (ESV). We are also a certified Nu Flow franchise partner — an internationally recognised no-dig pipe relining system.

Brett Ward
Brett Ward started his plumbing apprenticeship in 2003 and hasn’t looked back. Over more than 20 years in the trade, he has worked across every type of residential maintenance plumbing — from blocked drains and burst pipes to full bathroom renovations and civil works — and he still loves the variety of it.
Brett is a Master Plumbers member and a Backflow Australia member. He co-founded Triple Eight in 2012 with one idea in mind: build a plumbing business that people actually want to recommend to their friends and neighbours. Friendly, honest plumbing — in his words, exactly that.
His approach is defined by attention to detail, genuine care about getting the job done right, and straight communication.
He’ll tell you what the problem is, what it will cost to fix, and what he recommends — without the runaround.Outside of the trade, Brett is a father of three and loves getting away on family holidays when the schedule allows.

Garth Patterson
Garth Patterson completed his plumbing apprenticeship in Marlo on the Victorian coast, then spent years travelling across Australia working on mining and gas infrastructure — the kind of work that teaches you to think carefully before picking up a tool and to solve problems under pressure. Eventually Melbourne pulled him back, and Triple Eight Plumbing was the result.
Garth holds a Cert IV in Plumbing and is a fully licensed plumber with more than 20 years in the trade. He is a certified Nu Flow franchise partner — one of relatively few plumbers in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs with this specialist qualification — and he has made drain relining, manhole relining, and preventative maintenance the technical cornerstone of what Triple Eight does.
His philosophy is simple: understand the problem properly before deciding how to fix it. A CCTV camera inspection before any drain job. An honest conversation before any recommendation. In his words, the business has been built on results and relationships — and he means it.
Away from work, Garth is a father and an enthusiastic fisherman. He is also genuinely interested in new technology and ideas that make the trade better and the work more sustainable.

How we work
We built Triple Eight around a simple idea…
Do the job properly, be honest about what it costs, and communicate clearly so the customer isn’t left wondering what’s happening.
That means showing up when we say we will. It means running a CCTV camera before recommending a drain reline, not after. It means telling a customer if the job they called about has a simpler fix than they expected. And it means giving property managers the communication and documentation they need without having to chase us for it.
We are not the cheapest option in Melbourne…
We are the plumbers who fix things properly and don’t need to be called back for the same job six months later. That’s the reputation we’ve built, and it’s the one we intend to keep.

For every job Triple Eight completes, we donate $1 to Beyond Blue — Australia’s leading mental health support organisation.
It started because Garth and Brett believe that building a business means being part of a community, not just operating in one. Tradies and the people who work alongside them face real mental health pressures, and Beyond Blue does important work in that space. The donation is small per job, but across thousands of jobs it adds up — and it’s a commitment we’ve made because it matters to us, not because it looks good in marketing copy.
